Social Media Campaign

2015

Greenpeace, Amsterdam

Role

Online Campaigner

The "Hout de Dief" campaign, led by Greenpeace Netherlands, aims to address illegal logging and deforestation in tropical rainforests. Greenpeace activists protested by stopping the unloading of a cargo ship carrying 32.000 tons of illegally logged tropical timber in the port of Amsterdam. The campaign targets companies importing unsustainable wood and emphasizes the urgent need to preserve ancient forests, which are being rapidly destroyed by illegal logging operations. Through dramatic actions, Greenpeace aims to raise awareness and halt the import of this "stolen wood" into Europe.
